Class leave itClass March 2017

All Dog Classes are kept small, with a maximum of 6 dogs in each course so that everyone gets plenty of individualised attention. Please note that our first class in the program is just for humans! In the first dog-free week, we will explain the basics of positive reinforcement training and how dogs learn. You will also receive your clicker and learn how it is used as a powerful positive training tool.

Follow on classes at Intermediate level

The format for these classes will be on a casual basis.  Rather than signing up for a set 6 weekly program, it will be on a night to night basis.  Payment will be $10 a night or to save money buy upfront 5 sessions for $30 (you’ll have 10 weeks to use it)

The class will follow on from the basic class and start at 7.45pm

If you have already done the Basic class and want to continue to improve and build on what you have already taught then this is for you. Or if your dog can respond to you with mild distraction and can sit and lie down talk to me to see if this is suitable for you.
The intermediate program will cover:

  • The progression of skills learnt in basic class
  • Working your dog with distractions
  • Recall past other dogs
  • Mat training
  • Increasing the Leave it to include snakes (not live ones)
  • Go around a cone on cue

We will add in a sprinkling of tricks and games to keep it fun and interesting.

Basic from 6.45pm to 7.30 and the intermediate from 7.45pm till 8.30pm.

Is your dog suited to group classes

Not all dogs thrive in a group class, and sometimes it may do more harm than good to take your dog to group classes. Your dog needs to be able to cope with being around other people and dogs, not necessarily be well behaved that is what you will learn in class but just so as your dog does not freak out in the presence of people or dogs. You may want to call me to have a chat if you are unsure.
