Who needs this
If you are experiencing behavioural issues with your dog or dogs, then relief is at hand. During behavioural consultations, we investigate the underlying reasons why your dog displays the unwanted behaviour(s) such as excessive barking, dog reactivity, shyness, fearfulness, you name it.
Why use K9 Potential
Having studied behaviorology, we are experienced in using ABA, (animal behaviour analysis). If you have been to your Vet for a medical and the vet has suggested that you contact a behaviour specialist, then you are at the right place. Sometimes a single consult is all you need. Professional advice from a qualified dog behavioural trainer using best practice force-free training methods
What to expect
in-home assessment and consultation (1.5-2 hrs) with immediate management and training advice. Detailed and personalised management/training plan. Long-term behaviour modification instead of misleading quick fixes Absolutely no outdated or aversive training methods such as choke chains or shock collars (which are not only inhumane and illegal in other states, but often exacerbate the underlying problem).
Changing Behaviour
Please note, improvement depends on your dog’s previous life experiences, learning history and how well the you are able to manage the environment and implement the recommendations.
Follow up sessions available For $120
What if my dog has biten before
OK just tell us.
All dogs can bite if they have no other choice or earlier warning signals have been missed/ignored. We can address all bites from (air snaps, nips, one-off bites) to more serious ones. Please let us know prior to the consultation.
More serious issues
In some cases it may be necessary to refer you to a Veterinary Behaviour Specialist. Or to a vet for a full medical examination.
Cost for single consult $195 / TO BOOK Email or phone

Testimonial Sam and Snoop
Sam was having issues with her Dachshund, he was still a pup, but his endless biting and escaping her was ruining their relationship. We did just 3 sessions and here is what Sam said.
“It was so educational and rewarding working with you to train Snoop. Our bond has strengthened with the training and we look forward to working on the exercises. He is a much more relaxed little dog and he has a lot more confidence. Thank you Hilary for all your help.”
